A dancer and a taiko artist meet in a New Mexico dance workshop. They return years later for two shows on an international tour of their new piece, “Tricky Left.”
More than three years in the making, "Tricky Left" is a dynamic, emotional powerhouse of original music and choreography, featuring taiko (Japanese drums), percussion, synthesizers, and home-made instruments enmeshed with movement. Arugakki is Kristofer Bergstrom and Minh Nguyen. The first show is April 1, 7pm at Unit B in Santa Fe. The final show, produced by Torii Taiko, is a house concert at Santa Fe Budokan in Sunlit Hills, outside Santa Fe.
