About this Event

Join us for a volunteer workday to plant trees and remove invasive wintercreeper at St. Vincent Park on Saturday, October 30. This event will also provide information about an exciting opportunity for you to volunteer with the Community Stewardship Alliance program which launched in 2021.

Check-in and registration are at 8:45a.m. After entering the park, volunteers will turn right at the first road and follow it until it ends at a parking lot. There will be signs posted with arrows for directions.

Volunteers will be planting, mulching, and installing tree protection fencing in one section of the park and cutting and removing invasive wintercreeper in another section. Please come dressed for the weather. Please bring your own filled water bottle to the event. Work gloves and tools will be provided. Since this is the Halloween weekend, Halloween costumes are optional but encouraged and the best costume may just get some surprise OSC Swag!

In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Sunday, October 31.

COVID-19 precautions: To protect their own health and the health of the people around them , the CDC continues to advise those who are not fully vaccinated to wear a face covering when social distancing is not possible. Those who are fully vaccinated, meaning that they have received all necessary doses and waited two weeks, may participate in activities without wearing masks or physically distancing themselves. These precautions could be subject to change. Participants will receive their own pair of gloves and tools will be provided by the Open Space Council.

Special thanks to our partners Forest ReLeaf, Great Rivers Greenway District, Missouri Botanical Garden, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Master Naturalists Great Rivers Chapter, the Robert J.
