Author: Tricia Daum
Biography:
TRICIA DAUM, born in Los Angeles in the early 1950s, kept a journal starting at the age of nine when her family travelled to Europe for a year; she has been writing ever since. Tricia obtained a master’s of library science degree from the University of Washington and immigrated to British Columbia after graduation. In her professional roles, Tricia worked both as a librarian and a records manager. In 2015, Tricia joined the University Women’s Club of Vancouver and began participating in the club’s Monday Writers Group. This group meets weekly to write and critique works in the creative memoir genre. Tricia is a 2021 graduate of The Writers Studio, a Continuing Studies program of Simon Fraser University, through which she gained experience in poetry and lyrical creative writing.
The Monday Writers Group published an anthology, Write, Cry, Laugh, Repeat (2019), that includes four of Tricia’s memoir essays. Her illustrated prose poem “Reflections of Monica Meadows” was published in the Canadian Alpine Journal (2021), and “Monica Meadows” was published in the Writers Studio collection
emerge 2021. “Hood River Barren Lands”, the author’s 2026 prose poem was posted on Black Feather adventure company’s website in January 2026. The link to read this poem and see photos about Canada’s far north is accessed on this site:
