About this Event
Join us for a very special publication launch of the Gaza Guardian’s second issue! The Gaza Guardian is an educational project focused on providing and disseminating the resources necessary for escalation. Their new issue is centered around the political prisoner struggle with the title of the night pulling from the traditions of Peruvian and Palestinian political prisoners.
Doors open at 5pm with the publication available for reading and space to write letters to our political prisoners. Iftar will be served at 5.35pm followed by a presentation on the publication, the context of hunger striking prisoners in Britain and how to link the international struggle through the lens of political prisoners. We will then watch two shorts detailing historic cases of prisoner organising and uprising, finishing the night with a guided discussion.
We hope the night will be another step towards continuous solidarity-building with political prisoners, and ask you to help us fundraise for Palestinian prisoners solidarity network Samidoun and Gaza Guardian printing costs (split 70:30), either by leaving a donation when reserving your ticket or doing so on the day. If you can’t make it but would like to donate, there is an option for this on Eventbrite. As always, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Political prisoners in their steadfastness become the compass of the struggle; Pr*son is another trench of combat in the fight for a just world!
