Founded and led by Benny Jones Sr., Trem Brass Band represents the heartbeat of traditional New Orleans brass band culture. In contrast, BassX, led by GRAMMY-nominated sousaphonist Julius McKee, reimagines that lineage through a progressive jazz approach, reclaiming the sousaphones historic role as a driving bass voice. Together, the two groups showcase the evolving story of New Orleans music: one rooted firmly in tradition and the other pushing that tradition boldly forward.
