🌳 Treet Yourself Challenge 🌳📏 Measure Trees. Explore Outdoors. Win Cash!
Get outside, connect with nature, and take on the Treet Yourself Challenge at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base! Participants will measure tree circumferences around base and submit their findings for a chance to win up to $1,500 in prize money.

March 23 – April 20, 2026
🎯 The Goal
Spend time outdoors and measure the circumference of trees across base. The first participant to successfully submit the largest tree circumference will win. Prize amounts depend on the number of entries received during the challenge.
💰 Prize Tiers
• 250+ entries: Grand Prize $1,500
• 150 – 249 entries: $500
• 100 – 149 entries: $400
• 50 – 99 entries: $300
• 1 – 49 entries: $200
👥 Who Can Participate
All personnel with base access including:
Airmen and their families
Youth programs and schools connected to the base
Base organizations (squadrons, dorm councils, clubs, etc.)
📏 How to Enter
• Find a tree on base and measure the circumference of the trunk.
• Use a tape measure, string, measuring stick, or a smartphone measuring app.
• Submit your measurement using the QR code or entry form.
• Optional but encouraged: include a photo of the tree!
• Measurement tools can also be picked up at:
• 4 FSS Marketing Department (Bldg 3010, Room 228)
• Outdoor Recreation (1385 S. Andrews St.)
• Integrated Resiliency Office
🏆 Winner Selection
After the contest closes, the top three largest tree circumference submissions will be verified.
