With a panoramic view of the Deerfield River Valley, High Ledges supports a variety of northern hardwood trees: sugar and striped maples, yellow birch, American beech, various oaks and hickories, hop hornbeam, and many others. We'll first have an introduction to how to identify trees without leaves, then hike through the forest to the top of the Ledges while learning about the trees. We will also look at forest composition, how it might be affected by climate change, and what we can do to help.
