New Year...same tree nursery, join Steph and Tony for our first visit of 2025
Lead Ranger: Steph Rodgers Mobile: 07734 389301
Our community tree nursery is based off Winchmore Hill in High Wycombe, and we will grow native trees and shrubs from locally harvested seeds throughout the Chilterns. It is staffed by Chiltern Rangers but we also need the help of our skilled and trained volunteers as well as people of all ages and abilities from the wider community. New faces are always welcome.
Transport & Address:
Meet us on site at 10am. We will be working at the Chiltern Rangers Community Tree Nursery. We are located just behind FEC Heliports - click here for a visual.
The address is Fagnall Farm Barns, Fagnall Lane, Winchmore Hill, Amersham, HP7 0PQ. Parking is limited. Please park considerately and car share where possible.
Please can we ask everyone to arrive on time to ensure you do not miss the health & safety and task briefing. If you are late and the session has already started, you may not be able to join. Thank you.
You don't need to print off your Eventbrite ticket!
The Task:
A day of practical tasks to enjoy. Plenty for all abilities so come and join us! Our main tasks will be finalising the polytunnel (yes, it's not done yet!), sowing seeds and counting trees.
Timings (please note these timings are approximate):
10.00: Arrival on site. Task and safety briefing
10.15: Work begins
11.30: Tea & coffee break
13.00: Lunch - please bring your own
15.30: Work finishes, time to go home!
What to Bring:
Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.
Long trousers are advisable as there is thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers. If it's been raining wear your wellies!
Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain.
Please bring plenty of fluids and a packed lunch. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.
Access: The tree nursery is all on level ground and accessible for all. There are no disabled toilet facilties on site.
Please note:
Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.
Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
Anything else?
Please call 01494 474486 or email [email protected] with any questions.
