About this Event
Come for a winter nature walk with Wild Amersham and enjoy coffee (or lunch) in one of the pubs or cafes afterwards (for those who wish).
On this walk we will go up an old drover's route and visit Shardeloes Lake. We will look at trees, winter plant life, and birds on Shardeloes lake. The walk will be led by Wild Amersham volunteers Marieke and Adrian. We ask for a small donation to cover Wild Amersham's costs and help it do more for local nature.
This two hour gentle walk is suitable for adults and children 5 years and over. As we will be looking for wildlife it is not suitable for dogs. The route will include uneven ground and a hill and paths may be muddy; wear sturdy, waterproof shoes and bring binoculars if you have them. We will meet under the market hall in Old Amersham at 10.30. If the weather is likely to be bad we will postpone the walk and let participants know the evening before by email. Coffee, drinks or lunch are at participants' own expense.
This event is organised by Wild Amersham, part of Sustainable Amersham. We are a local community group that encourages local people to appreciate and protect local nature.
