This walking tour explores the Southwest Trail of the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum with a focus on the horticultural collections (including the beltline bog). Discover some of the unique pieces of public art on this part of the Beltline including ConNectar - an art piece installed by Trees Atlanta that shares the importance of pollinators in our urban forest. This is a great tour for families of all ages. Stay after the tour to enjoy a drink or a bite in one of the local breweries and restaurants.About the Docents: Yuping Lu and her daughter Olivia Wang started volunteering at Trees Atlanta in June 2021 doing tree plantings and pruning, as well as forest restoration. Now they co-lead tours of the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum.
About the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum: Trees Atlanta currently manages 85 acres of linear greenspace along 13 miles of the Atlanta Beltline corridor. This acreage is composed of approximately 46 acres of planted space, and the remaining 39 acres are natural areas under restoration management. This managed greenspace on the Atlanta Beltline is known as the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum. In conjunction with continued trail development, the Arboretum will expand as new trees are planted and accessioned into the Arboretum collections.
