About this Event
You may recognize your human neighbors, but what about your tree neighbors? There are millions of trees from over 200 species in New York City. In this walk we will talk about different species of trees planted in NYC and how they are able to thrive in the harsh urban environment. We will learn to recognize different trees by their leaves as well as their bark, roots, branches, and even flowers. We will visit trees that are native to this land and trees that have been introduced at different points in history.
Spring is an exciting time of growth and renewal! Please bring any questions you may have about the urban ecosystem and wear comfortable walking shoes. We will walk at a leisurely pace and cover about a mile of city streets.
