TREE FARM DAY!

Tree Farm Day during the last several years has occurred on public, non-Tree Farm properties. This year, Tree Farm Day will be at an actively managed tree farm. The property is 95 acres, and is entirely forested. It is fairly diverse, with large areas of hardwoods, and some pine plantations. It will showcase some of the issues many forest landowners battle with including: overabundance of deer, ash mortality, diseased beech trees, issues with invasive vegetation, etc. We will showcase programs during the day demonstrating active forest management. There will be active harvesting, a sawmill, and a forestry mower on site, just to name a few. The terrain is fairly flat with many trails that are easy to navigate. Hay wagons will also be used to quickly move folks throughout the property.

We will have our traditional presentation of awards of the Ron Sheay NJ Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year (OTFY) and the George Pierson Forest Steward of the Year during the lunch break. The “silent auction” will take place throughout the day. Come share with us in celebrating the Tree Farm Program in New Jersey and congratulating your peers for their outstanding achievements in forest resource management.

If you have an item to donate to our “silent auction” please bring it with you. We encourage you to mark Friday June 5th, 2026 on your calendar and come out and see some outstanding forest resource management, and support your NJ Tree Farm Program. Plan to spend the entire day with your fellow tree farmers and forest conservationists having fun, learning new things, and meeting old and new friends.

Cost: $35.00, then $25 for each additional person (kids under 18 free) - Healthy continental breakfast and brown bag lunch provided.

Registration Deadline: Friday May 29th, 2026. Walk-ins possible but we may not have lunch for you. We encourage you to bring lawn chairs, camp chairs, or blankets for sitting.  There will be a tent if weather inclement. TF signs with arrows directing you to the site will be placed on roads as you near the TF location.
