About this Event
Tree Connections
Join local creative and outdoor educator Onyx Ocean on an interactive and accessible walkshop designed to help you better understand and connect to local trees. With your trusty fieldbook in hand (provided), expect to meet trees both en route and at our final destination, and get to know them through tree identifcation, bark rubbings and more.
Depending on group energy levels, ability, and access needs, we will walk from GROUND to either Beverley and Barnstom Drain (0.6miles), Pearson Park (0.7miles), or Beresford Park (1.5miles).
Participants may then wish to return to GROUND and use the provided materials to create and develop further responses for the Tree Stories 'Digital Forest'. Participants can also spend time with the AltPride 'Existance is Resistance' exhibition currently showing at GROUND before and after the walk, as well as learn more about the next chapter of GROUNDs 'This Place Project'.
All ages are welcome to participate, but those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Please book a space per person.
Please remember to:
- Bring a pen
- Bring adequate hydration and any snacks you need
- Wear suitable shoes for walking
- Wear a sunhat and/or sunscreen if it's sunny.
