Flowing OnLike a river whose life-giving flow of water sustains us, music can carry memory, longing, and joy — even serving as a lifeline for the most vulnerable in our communities. In this concert, the Treble Choir explores water as both symbol and sound: sometimes calm and dreamlike, sometimes rushing and full of life. 21st-century arrangements of spirituals (Down in the River to Pray, Wade in the Water), the beloved folk song Shenandoah, and original works by composers from Hildegard of Bingen (1098–1179) to Reena Esmail (b. 1983) create a soundscape that spans centuries, yet converges in a single truth: we are all connected by the incredible resource of water that we share. Join us for an afternoon of choral music that ebbs, flows, and reminds us that we are "flowing on" together.
