Biedenharn Museum and Gardens Executive Director Ralph Calhoun will talk about "Treasurers of the Biedenharn Bible Collection," looking at thirteen of the important Bibles in the collection.Calhoun says, "It is difficult only to discuss a handful of our Bibles, as we have an incredible collection. When I am at conferences, I often tell people the quality of the Biedenharn's collection is just as impressive as those in larger institutions. While other places may have more quantity, we match them on quality."
Among the Bibles that will be talked about are the Gutenberg Bible (the Biedenharn has a single page, called a leaf), the 1611 King James Bible, and the first two Bibles printed in what became the United States.
After the one-hour talk, attendees will go to the Bible Museum to see the Bibles discussed.
The talk is FREE and open to the public.
