Join us for a day-long exploration of the world of native plant & seed production!
About this Event

When: Thursday, June 4th 2026 (8:30am-4pm, with optional networking happy hour after)

Where: Short morning hike on the Warm Springs trail, followed by whole group & breakout sessions at the Idaho Botanical Garden. Networking happy hour after the event at Warm Springs Grill & Golf.


This dynamic workshop will include:

  • Hands-on practice identifying native plants whose seeds are mature for harvest with local expert Peggy Faith of Xeric Gardens
  • Permitting & ethical wild seed collection basics (presenters TBD)
  • Native seed & plant production best practices (Peggy Faith, Daniel Murphy, Casey O’Leary, others TBD)
  • Short presentations by community stakeholders & partners committed to increasing native plant & seed production in the Treasure Valley (current partners include Ada Soil & Water Conservation District, City of Boise, Idaho Botanical Garden, Snake River Seed Cooperative, Taproots Farm Hub, Treasure Valley Native Plant Network; others TBD)
  • Breakout groups to build alliances and identify next steps for increasing our valley’s native seed & plant supply
  • Good times with fellow plant geeks who love native plants!

Lunch provided from Clean Cuisine by Gina featuring local ingredients - omnivore, vegan/vegetarian, and gluten free options available. More details to come as the event planning unfolds!

$20 registration fee helps to offset the cost of food. No one turned away for inability to pay. Reach out to [email protected] to request partial or full financial assistance.
