Welcome to the 17th Annual Urban Summit!
Please join us for the 17th Annual Urban Summit Conference on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Education Center on the Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley Campus 3201 SW Trafficway. The theme for the annual conference is “Treachery Unveiled: The Face of Political Betrayal.” Michael Eric Dyson and Author Tim Wise will keynote this highly informative, engaging, and inspirational event. Michael Eric Dyson is a renowned scholar, ordained Baptist minister, and public intellectual. His innovative scholarship, combining cultural criticism and biography, focuses on race, religion, popular culture, and contemporary issues in the African-American community. Tim Wise is among the most prominent anti-racist writers and educators in the United States. He has spent the past 25 years speaking to audiences in all 50 states, on over 1,000 college and high school campuses, at hundreds of professional and academic conferences, and to community groups across the country.
