Come and use our workshop to fix your own bike with our female mechanics on hand for help and advice. All women welcome.We have opened up our workshop for you to come and fix your own bike in a friendly women's only space.
Our professional fully equipped tool boards and work stands are available for 1 hour bookings throughout the evening. If you think your bike will take longer than a hour we advise book two slots- two hours. These session will run monthly.
Two female mechanics will be on hand to offer help and advice throughout the session. There's also the internet, peer support and bike maintenance manuals to assist you whilst your waiting.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be free flowing but feel free to bring your own snacks too.
This session is organised by Women in Tandem, a Community Interest Company based in Nottingham that aims to support and empower women to ride bikes. It is part of our Travel Well project in partnership with Nottingham City Council and funded by Active Travel England. All attendees will need to complete a registration survey for our funders. You can save time completing it before (click here) or you can complete it on one of our devices at the workshop.
This enables us to offer this service for free but we are always very grateful for donations. Small generic parts such as cables, pads and tubes are included and we can help fit them.
We will also stock a selection of other bike parts that you could buy and fit onto your bike during the session. We can also order parts for the bike for you to fit at a different session.
This is a perfect opportunity to have a go at fixing your bike at your own pace. We also offer a variety of bike maintenance courses that are a great place to gain some knowledge and experience before putting your skills into action.
Note this session is open to self-identifying women only who are Nottingham City Residents.

Parking: Please note that we do not have designated parking spaces, you can park on Chaucer street but it’s £2.60 per hour. We’d recommended cycling.
