Trip Details
Day 1 – London to Isle of Wight| Private Guided Shanklin Town Orientation Tour| Group Lunch| Private Guided Ventnor Town Walking Tour
In just under 3.5hours, we will have completed our journey to Isle of Wight, from London. Check-in and luggage drop at the group accommodation
Starting with a Private Guided Orientation Tour of Shanklin Town, although now a lively town with good shops and restaurants, it is the ‘old village’ with its famous quaint thatched cottages that draws in the visitors. Shanklin has a lovely sandy beach and cliff formations of such significance to serious students of geology, that they are textbook examples as far away as Australia! Group Meal* after the Shanklin Town Orientation Tour.
*NB Please make sure you note down any dietary’s and/or allergies on your booking form, including Emergency Contact details. Please note we cannot guarantee that any of their dishes are allergen free and/or fulfil dietary requirements due to possible cross contamination during their production. Please make sure you plan and pack enough medication needed for this trip.
A quick transfer to Ventnor Town for our Private Guided Walking Tour. It’s been compared to Notting Hill, Charles Dickens (no less) described it as “The prettiest place I ever saw in my life, at home or abroad" and it is now home to a quirky home-grown arts festival. Ventnor (or V-Town to those in the know) is a real gem of the Wight. With its famed microclimate, shingle beach and zig-zag approach to the seafront, you just have to Say Yes to Ventnor during your Isle of Wight stay. And it’s not just Dickens who loved Ventnor - Karl Marx, Sir Winston Churchill and Mahatma Gandhi were among icons of the past to take the town’s air.
Ample free time during the late afternoon and evening to explore the nightlife the island has to offer.

Day 2 – Round the Island Day Trip
After breakfast we take a full day trip round the island. Hear tales of King Charles I, Queen Victoria & Prince Albert, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Charles Darwin, Julia Margaret Cameron, Charles Dickens, Garibaldi, Marconi, Winston Churchill, Ian Fleming, Jimi Hendrix and many more. Lunch stop where you can purchase refreshments/food during the tour.
Visit Queen Victoria’s 'dear Osborne', see the 1970 IOW (Pop) Festival Site, wonder at the exterior of Carisbrooke Castle, continuing on the stunning south coastal route with its tales of smuggling, shipwrecks and dinosaurs and across the Island’s central downs, see Shanklin and Ventnor with their spectacular views, Blackgang, through Newport with its hidden royal tomb, Tennyson’s Farringford and neighbouring Dimbola, along with tucked away 'chocolate box' villages, all before finishing at The Needles.
Ample free time during the evening to re-explore the island.
Day 3 – Group Accommodation Check-out| Isle of Wight to London
After breakfast we return back to London via Ferry & Train.
