Join Tiumaluali’i Jody Marie Hassel, M.F.A., E-RYT 500, TCTSY-F for an unforgettable and experiential trauma-informed workshop. Psychological trauma has specific and often lasting impacts on the mind and body requiring treatment in response to diverse expressions and experiences.
Jody's experiential four-hour workshop will survey the theoretical underpinnings of Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSY) as a treatment for Complex Trauma and treatment resistant PTSD.
Options for practice of the techniques will be integrated throughout the workshop, please wear clothes for movement if you'd like to try the yoga forms. Opportunities for discussion and reflection will also be offered. Please bring a journal or sketchbook if you like to take notes or reflect in those ways.
In clinical, educational, and other professional settings, discussion of the spiritual is often siloed into a category of religion or some other mileu. As time allows, we will consider TSY in regard to the 8 limbs of yoga and other spiritual means toward healing in tandem with the methods.
How much you pay for training and practice can be an act of collective care. For those of you who can afford to pay on the higher end of the scale, your fee helps to support those who may not have means at the moment. This is one way to share power, leverage privilege, and create healing equity. Considering what is sustainable for you, you can choose:

There is also a chance to get a full scholarship for this class.
As part of the scholarship application, applicants are asked to include one short paragraph written to speak on their interest in trauma-sensitive practices and the relevance of this training.
The paragraph may be informal and should reflect the writer’s genuine perspective.
There is no required format or length, and professional titles or academic language are not necessary.
