Trash People of McKinley Park x Trash Castle - TRASH FRIENDS + COFFEE

exists to facilitate community contribution & connection in Chicago. Come out for our first social event of the year in partnership with TRASH CASTLE and SNAIL CATALOG to meet your neighbors, new friends & fellow Trash People!

• Stop by the Trash Castle Workshop (1048 W 37th St, Unit 102) anytime between 10am-12pm to hang out and join in the fun activities!
• Free hot coffee and cold brew will be provided courtesy of Bright Void Coffee Roasters! They will also have their locally roasted beans available for purchase.

OTHER WAYS TO PARTICIPATE:

• PLANT SWAP: Bring a plant or cutting to swap with others. All are welcome to participate even if you don't bring anything along. We could all use more greenery and joy wherever we can get it these days.
• DIY SCREEN PRINTING: Eeeek! So excited about this one! Bring a light-colored shirt/sweatshirt or tote bag of your own to screen print on the newest, raddest, baddest Trash People bucket design (about 8x10 in.). The design was created by Trash Castle and the screen print made by Snail Catalog! Trash Castle will also have their own irresistable design for printing as well. $5 suggested donation for screen printing to help support Trash People.
• DONATE PLASTICS: Do you have trash guilt like we do? Trash Castle is accepting the following plastic items: HDPE (#2), LDPE (#4), PP(#5), and small colorful plastic bits & bobs/tchotchkes (see the Instagram post for examples). Bring items as is!
• LEARN ABOUT PLASTIC RECYCLING EFFORTS: Trash Castle and Snail Catalog will give us an overview of their ongoing work in the workshop and how they up-cycle post-consumer plastics in creative ways.

• The safety of all Trash People is important to us so we recommend in attending our events that you take all safety precautions that you would in every day life.

• In attending our events, and by registering via this event link, you are acknowledging that your participation is voluntary, and that you are completely responsible for your own behavior and safety at the event. By registering, you are releasing and holding harmless Trash People and associated parties from all claims and liability relating to any illness, injury, disability or death, theft or loss that may occur during the event, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

• Sometimes photos are taken at our events which may be used for future promotional purposes and on social media. If you do not wish to be photographed for this purpose, please notify the group leader and opt out of photographs on the day.

• If the event is fully booked, please add yourself to the waitlist or join us for the next one! In order to keep the group manageable for our organizers, to ensure we have enough supplies, and to ensure all participants have reviewed our disclaimers, we require all attendees to have formally RSVPd.
