About this Event

Minimum age to attend this class is 10 years old.

A trapper education course teaches participants how to responsibly trap furbearing animals and provides a foundation of knowledge upon which to build. Topics in the course include proper trapping equipment and use, responsible trap setting, the importance of good wildlife management practices, and habits and traits of furbearers. Students must pass a written exam.

Upon registering for the class the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will mail you the homework packet to be completed prior to the April 11th Field Day.

There will be a nominal fee of $10 per student to help pay for cleaning supplies and class materials. It will be collected at the field day.

You must complete the homework and attend the field day.

The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Recreational Safety Coordinator will assist you in navigating through the course prerequisites.
