This time our facilitated portion of the night before the jam will be facilitated by our very own Chloe Rosen (they/them)! Chloe is a genderqueer & neurodivergent freaky jester guy.....also an artist, student, cat dad, and somatic therapist-in-training (amongst other things). They are a nerd about nonduality and seeing nuance, dynamism, and contradiction in all things. Their movement practice is derived from the intersection of their internal compass & relational environments: following the emergence of everchanging sensation and curiosity. They're stoked to dance with you and offer some guidance that intends to help each person strengthen their body-full attunement to themselves and others.
Please be on time if you can! We will have an opening circle to orient everyone to the space & exchange names/pronouns. Then we'll move into some gently facilitated warm-up time before moving into the jam during the second hour.
Access: Wildcat studio is accessible by wheelchair. There are no stairs to the studio or the bathroom. The bathroom is wheelchair accessible. The studio manager has a request of wheelchair wheels being wiped off before going on the dance floor, which the organizers can help with. We ask that our space be a fragrance free space, please refrain from wearing scented products before coming. This is a mask optional space. Masks will be available. Please monitor any symptoms of sickness, test if you are concerned, and stay home if you are sick.
Join us at Wildcat Studio to move, play, dance with other trans and queer folks... no dance/movement experience is required. This space was born out of the desire to have an exclusive movement improv space for queer people that centers trans bodies to build comfort and trust outside of a cis/het centric space. This is our fifth offering, so if you LOVE it let us know and we will keep doing it. The longer term vision is to be able to to bring in different trans/queer movement facilitators at the beginning of some of the events for gentle warm up facilitation before having an open jam floor. Contact improv may be an option in this space but is never requried, and CI elements will be approached from a consent-oriented and queer centered way. We hope to have live instrumental musicians if possible in the future, and right now recorded music is a part of the soundscape.
