About this Event
AGMC presents TransPose β a gift to trans singers in our community and to those who support them. Through workshops and masterclasses, we'll explore vocal pedagogy as it relates to trans voices, and how to cultivate welcoming choral and vocal spaces for transgender singers.
This event is open to singers, voice teachers, conductors, and anyone eager to learn more about their own vocal instrument or looking to better support trans singers in educational settings.

Info: Dr. Sauerland will lead AGMC in vocal technique exercises with a specific focus on our trans singers and clinic repertoire we are preparing for the Spring Concert.

Info: Dr. Sauerland will present a lecture on vocal pedagogy for trans singers referencing his book βQueering Vocal Pedagogy.β

Info: Attendees will sign-up/volunteer for 15-minute public coachings of music. Attendees will observe Dr. Sauerland working with these trans voices.

Info: Dr. Sauerland will present strategies for teachers and conductors who are working with trans singers.

Info: Attendees will have the opportunity to meet 1:1 or in small groups with Dr. Sauerland and/or Dara Allan, voice therapist from the Austin Voice Institute.
