About this Event

Transpiration reflects on the entanglements that enrich and complicate our lives. In the midst of storm targets, geomagnetic activity, and digital alteration, these poems consider the possibilities for intimacy with the natural world around us and with each other. The pamphlet grieves for what has been left behind and what will be lost in the future through the actions of human hands. Yet life goes on: through the skin, the pulse, ‘so many different ways to breathe’.

Alycia Pirmohamed is a Canadian-born poet based in Scotland. In 2023, she won the Nan Shepherd Prize for her nonfiction debut Shorelines, forthcoming with Canongate in 2026. Lee, Nina Mingya Powles and Pratyusha. this too is a glistening, their collaborative pamphlet, was published by Bitter Melon 苦瓜 in 2024.
