Transitioning to Modern Energy for Cooking: Supply Chain Platforms for eCooking Solutions

We are delighted to invite you to the 9th session of the Talk Series – Phase III on “Supply Chain Platforms for eCooking Solutions.” This virtual session organized by the Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) Programme and its India partner Finovista aims to explore the critical role of supply chains in making eCooking solutions accessible affordable and sustainable. Supply chains are crucial for the widespread adoption of eCooking solutions. As more people turn to electric cooking for its efficiency environmental benefits and smart features having a robust supply chain ensures that everything—from raw materials to finished products—is managed and delivered smoothly. This means eCooking devices can reach more households becoming a viable option for many.

One of the main challenges especially in rural areas is inconsistent electricity supply. Effective supply chain management can help by ensuring a steady flow of high-quality products and support services. This includes making sure replacement parts are available and setting up local repair and service centers which are essential for maintaining these devices over time.

Innovative technologies like IoT and blockchain are also enhancing supply chains. IoT devices provide real-time data on usage and performance helping manufacturers predict maintenance needs and improve product designs. Blockchain ensures materials are authentic and sustainable building consumer trust and promoting responsible practices.

By streamlining the delivery of products and services and supporting sustainability supply chains play a vital role in making clean cooking technologies more widespread. Addressing logistical challenges and using these advancements supply chain platforms are key to improving cooking practices and the quality of life for many households.

The Talk Series now in its third phase has become a vital global platform for stakeholders to discuss the adoption of modern energy for cooking. It has brought together diverse voices from the clean cooking sector and related fields to address challenges uncover opportunities and develop policies for the Modern Energy-based Clean Cooking Sector in India.
