Transitioning in the Workplace IN PERSON Event
Join us for an empowering educational event hosted at the newly opened event space, Dandelion Collective!
Are you planning to or are currently undergoing social, legal, and/or medical gender transition while navigating the complexities of the workplace? This workshop is designed to provide practical strategies and to help you advocate for and protect yourself effectively at every stage of your career journey.
Beat the Bots Résumé Founder Ezra will share personal insights learned during his own transition, as well as offer space for attendees to share their own stories and ask questions in a safe and non-judgmental space.
During this session, attendees will gain knowledge about:
- Your legal rights and protections as a protected class of person
- Best practices for writing resumes and cover letters
- Navigating interviews with confidence
- Communicating with supervisors and colleagues about transitioning
- Negotiating workplace accommodations
- Managing challenges and discrimination effectively
- “Defensive Driving” Self Advocacy Model
This event is sliding scale, or pay-what-you-can. Suggested cost per person to attend is free, up to $25 donation.
