About the Film
Set high in the majestic French Pyrenees, The Shepherd & The Bear is a visually stunning and deeply moving story about tradition, change, and our relationship with the wild.
When brown bears are reintroduced into a remote mountain region, tensions rise within a traditional shepherding community. The film follows an ageing shepherd struggling to find someone to carry on his lifeโs work as bears prey on his flock โ and a teenage boy who becomes captivated by tracking the bears through the mountains.
Through breathtaking cinematography and immersive storytelling, The Shepherd & The Bear unfolds like a modern folktale โ exploring generational change, community identity, and humanityโs fragile relationship with a vanishing natural world.
