About this Event
Moving from primary school to high school is an important life event and can be a positive and exciting time. Yet some children require additional support. Children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) often find transition more challenging than their peers.
This workshop is for parents/carers of children in Years 4, 5 and 6. It is based on research into what makes for a successful transition. It will cover:
- Some practical approaches that schools can use to support a smooth transition
- How parents / carers can prepare and support their children for the move to high school
There will be time alloted for questions and discussion.
