About this Event
Welcome to our Transgender Awareness Course.
Join Jackie, a transgender woman and her mom, Bridget, for an honest, eye-opening discussion about what it means to be transgender and how to be a supportive parent, teacher, friend, colleague or anyone else in a transgender person’s life.
Jackie and Bridget have been on this journey for seven years now, ever since Jackie came out and began to transition in 2017, when she was 19 years old. They’ve learned a lot and want to share it with you so that you can be an even better ally to transgender people.
We’ll discuss Jackie’s realization that she’s trans, her coming out, the mistakes Bridget made in the beginning, and the things she has realized since that difficult time.
We'll also talk about about resources available, the wide range of gender identities, and current issues in the transgender community.
You’ll come away with a greater understanding of what being transgender is like and practical tips for communicating with, being inclusive of, and fully supporting all transgender people you may know now and in the future.
Don't miss this opportunity to expand your knowledge and show your support. Register now and mark your calendar for this impactful event!
