Transforming Your Trauma-Based Shame into Self Compassion Workshop with Kate Williams
About this Event

Ugghh...shame...such a murky, overbearing, crippling feeling. Shame can rob us of our light, our energy, our joy. Importantly it can rob us of our self-compassion.

With trauma, and particularly complex, relational trauma, where a person has experienced significant deprivations whilst growing up, a common internalised belief is: I am bad, it's my fault... This belief goes through to the core and is re-enforced by a bullying inner critic. Trauma-shame is deep rooted! This can often mean that a persons self-esteem has never really lifted off their self-esteem has been slowly grated away over time by the internalised critic.

The body, gestures and nervous system take shape around these early experiences further perpetuating the shame response. In this workshop through Kate's playful and engaging teaching style you will learn how to work with the body & mind to move from shame to compassion.

The techniques you'll learn are easy to pick up and safe to bring into your therapeutic practice immediately
