About this Event
Trauma sensitive yoga (TCTSY) is an evidence-based, adjunctive treatment for the treatment of complex trauma and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It has been shared with children, youth, and adults around the world and is equally accessible to all people regardless of age, gender identity, race, ethnicity, body type, or physical ability. It allows for a yoga practice with complete agency, autonomy, and choice in your own body.
This is a 4 part series scheduled for every Saturday in the month of June, with each week building off the prior week. Each workshop will start with an hour of TCTSY movement practice, followed by an hour of group processing and conversation. Here we will explore, learn, connect, reclaim, heal, let go, and look forward. No formal diagnosis of any sort is required for this workshop. If you feel stuck or hindered from your past - this is a space for you.
Focus of each week:
Week 1 ( June 3rd) - embodiment
Week 2 (June 10th) - relationships
Week 3 (June 17th) - boundaries
Week 4 (June 24th) - self-compassion
This will be a CLOSED group to protect safety and privacy of the group, and foster a deeper experience for all. Buying tickets prior to the start of the first session is required to have access to all 4 weeks.
Recommended to bring:
- Yoga mat (props provided if needed)
- Water bottle
- Journal and pen
- Comfortability items (blanket, pillow, comfort item, etc)
- Yourself exactly how you are
