This interactive session transforms traditional leadership paradigms by cultivating leadership qualities across all team members. Positional leaders will gain valuable insights into transitioning from conventional management approaches to becoming effective facilitators of self-directed work teams. Through guided exercises, attendees will engage in meaningful self-reflection and develop personalized action plans that enable their teams to respond authentically to Elders' needs and preferences within a person-centered framework.

Info: Amplifying Resident Voices: Supporting What Matters to Them in Care. Drawing from the groundbreaking work of the Moving Forward Coalition, this session presents evidence-based practices for identifying, documenting, and implementing residents' goals, preferences, and priorities. Participants will explore practical tools and processes developed by diverse leaders and experts specifically designed to ensure resident voices remain central to all care decisions.

Session 3:
Info: Supporting Resident Voice while Mitigating Risk. This concluding session addresses the delicate balance between honoring resident choices and managing organizational risk. Participants will examine how to develop values-based policies that respect autonomy while addressing regulatory concerns. The session provides a framework for staff training that equips care teams to make sound decisions aligned with both resident preferences and organizational values. Laci will be joined by a representative from DHSS and a SNF/AL leader for a panel discussion and review of case studies on how to support choice when risk is involved.
