Join us for Artful Soul’s annual fundraiser and a truly rare opportunity to learn the sacred art of sand mandala creation under the guidance of Tibetan monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery. We are honored to welcome these esteemed monks during their Mystical Arts of Tibet Tour, as they raise funds for their monastery in Mundgod, India, and their cultural center in Atlanta, Georgia.
Creating a sand mandala is a deeply meditative practice that reflects the impermanence of life and the beauty of the present moment. With the monks’ expert instruction, you’ll carefully place grains of colored sand to form an intricate, symbolic design. This slow, intentional process becomes both an artistic and spiritual experience.
At the conclusion of the class, participants will take part in a traditional dissolution ceremony, where the mandalas are gently dismantled—a powerful ritual symbolizing non-attachment and the transient nature of all things. This practice is believed to cultivate compassion, deepen awareness, and contribute to healing on both personal and universal levels.
You’ll choose from the Eight Auspicious Symbols, each rich with meaning, including:
The Precious Parasol – protection from suffering
The Two Golden Fish – good fortune, fertility, and abundance
The Endless Knot – the interconnectedness of all things
The Treasure Vase – an endless flow of longevity, prosperity, and wisdom
Class size is limited to 20 participants, offering a rare, hands-on experience rooted in centuries-old tradition.
No prior experience required

Proceeds support the monks and their cultural mission
