Transactional Analysis (TA) Association Singapore’s inaugural event of the year!


2026 TAA Singapore Conference: “TA Lens to Mental Health – Embracing Diversity and Inclusivity.”

Explore mental health, diversity, and inclusivity through the lens of TA at this 2-day event - 9 & 10 January 2026.

Guest-Of-Honour: Prof. Daniel Fung - CEO, IMH.

Conference day will be held on 10 January 2026 (Saturday), 9am to 5:30pm. The full day program will include a keynote address, a panel discussion, and 5 concurrent workshops to select from focusing on clinical, educational, and organizational applications of TA.

A pre-conference clinic will be held on 9 January 2026 (Friday), 2:00pm to 5:30pm, with 4 concurrent workshops to select from.

Dr. Jessica Leong TSTA CLINICAL, PTSTA ORGANISATIONAL, MSC TA PSYCHOTHERPY

Dr Leong holds the distinction of being Singapore’s first certified Transactional Analyst, and the only certified Clinical Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst, and the first Asian Transactional Analyst to receive the Goulding Award for Excellence in Transactional Analysis Theory and Practice.

She was awarded a scholarship to undertake a Master’s in Counselling with Keele University, UK, and was accorded the Gold Award at the Excellence in Teaching Convention. In 1993, Dr Leong was accredited by the Training Certifying Council (Minneapolis) to undertake the teaching and supervision of tertiary Transactional Analysis trainees. She was the President of the Transactional Analysis Association in Singapore for 20 years, while providing clinical support across government and private sectors which span from academic and finance to health. A founding member, her involvement remains steadfast and invaluable to the Association serving as the current President .

Today, Dr Jessica Leong is the Clinical and Academic Director of the Executive Counselling and Training Academy, the CEO of JC Integra (TA), and the Berne TA Center.

Info: Explores how early emotional survival strategies, known in Transactional Analysis as “rackets,” evolve into adult patterns of adaptation and managing distress—our psychological “pacifiers.” We will trace how these scripted feelings often become unconscious strategies for self-soothing or managing others, especially in the context of power and identity. Info: Explore the significance of schooling on how we experience ourselves in the world. Typically, the emphasis on life script has been on the impact of family dynamics on the individual’s belief about self and others. This time we will turn our focus to the influence of the classroom on generating personal narratives that extend beyond childhood into adult life. We will look at how educators draw on TA where the ‘client’ is not a patient, and their task is not cure. >>> Speaker Dr. Giles Barrow is an Educator, Transactional Analyst, Eco-TA Founder & Author. Info: We will attempt to unravel the intricate processes of interparental conflict & children's mental health in therapy. It will be based on work done in China & in Singapore. Through detailed analyses of purposefully selected cases where there are children suffering from mental health problems, divorce/ family violence, this workshop would unpack the intricate dynamics and some therapeutic approaches used to address them. You are invited to engage in a critical examination of the way certain parent-child relational patterns transcend specific ethnic & cultural boundaries. >>> Speaker Prof. Timothy Sim has been working in Hong Kong for more than 19 years. Info: Learning can affect mental health, particularly in Singapore. This workshop introduces the concepts of learning scripts and relational learning. Participants will take part in the Four Learning Stories exercise, adapted from Fanita English, to discover aspects of their own learning scripts and how this impacts them in learning situations.  This workshop comes with 2 complimentary individual supervision sessions with Jr-Earn, where participants can process their discoveries and work to update their learning scripts for better mental health. >>>Speaker Jr-Earn is Singapore’s first Provisional Teaching and Supervising
