Time change! Trans Gym Day will be at 7 pm on Monday, September 23!Have you been wanting to hit the gym, but feel confused about the equipment or alienated by the space? Do you want to work out with other trans people? Join us for Trans Gym Day on the 4th Monday of every month! Trans gym day will be at the Community Building, 115 W 11th St, Lawrence.
Important things to know:
- Admission to City of Lawrence recreation centers is free with proof of Douglas County residency. Bring your key tag! Read more here: https://lawrenceks.org/lprd/recreationfacilities/cb/
- The Community Building weight room has limited space and can only accommodate a handful of people. Be prepared to rotate around the cardio room, basketball court, and weight room.
- Be considerate of the space and others using it. No circuits.
- TLC volunteers will be available to answer questions about equipment. However, this is not a personal training session.
- The Community Building does not have gender neutral or single stall restrooms. There is an additional set of gendered restrooms in the basement that are less frequently used than the restrooms on the main floor.
- If we outgrow the Community Building space, we'll move to a different free City of Lawrence recreation center in future months.
