About this Event
Are you interested in helping to create an oral and community history of trans and non-binary people in the East Midlands?
We are a group of trans, non-binary and cis researchers based in Nottingham and Loughborough and we are looking for local trans and non-binary people who would like to take part as interviewers, interviewees or archivists. We think now is the time to think about gathering the memories and stories of the community and make sure its legacy is preserved. But there are some real challenges that must be overcome in order that the creation of this history is done safely and ethically. We would like your help to create a list of community-driven ethical principles so that the project offers real benefits to the trans and non-binary community in the East Midlands.
Come and share tea, coffee and biscuits with us at the Nottingham Central Library (Lecture Room 1) on Saturday November 30th between 11 and 12.30. In this session we will mostly be talking about the ethics involved in creating an archive.
If you prefer to join online then please let us know on the Eventbrite form and we will arrange for a Teams link to be sent to you.
