About this Event
Community People are offering a FREE training session for volunteers and staff that support young people in a group setting. This will be led by experienced trainer Michelle Old of Conversations that Create Change
The day aims to equip staff and volunteers with essential skills for engaging young people, focusing on developmental needs and building trust. Key goals include improving confidence, understanding behaviour and fostering inclusivity within a supportive environment and will ensure personal growth for each attendee. The day will include the following themes:
- Handling real-life scenarios in youth work.
- Co-production & Youth Voice integration to support youth workers empowering young people to design clubs and programmes.
- Trauma-informed practice.
- SEND awareness and inclusion.
- Understanding the realities young people are facing.
- Strengthening communication and relational skills.
- Building confidence in youth work practice.
- Peer support work and network.
The day is FREE for all participants but we will require a £10 refundable deposit on sign up per person.
