TRAINING OPPORTUNITY LEVEL 1 (OCN) INTRODUCTION TO RESTORATIVE STORYTELLING

This Level 1 training opportunity introduces participants to the principles and practice of restorative storytelling — a trauma-informed approach to sharing and holding stories with care, dignity, and purpose.

Stories, when held well, can support mutual understanding, respect, healing, connection, and acceptance. This course provides a supportive learning space to explore how storytelling can strengthen relationships, communities, and social change work.

This Level 1 (OCN NI) accredited course will support you to:

• Understand the principles of restorative storytelling
• Explore what makes a story restorative rather than extractive
• Reflect on your values and their role in storytelling
• Learn how to plan and host safe storytelling spaces
• Build confidence in listening, reflection, and facilitation
• Develop skills you can use in community, youth, education, or support settings

No previous experience required.

Participants may also choose to contribute to a wider piece of social change through supported training and the sharing of stories - with care, choice, and support throughout.

In-person learning.

• Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th February – In-person sessions
  ⏰ 10:00am – 5:00pm (both days)
  🍽 Lunch will be provided on Saturday and Sunday

Please note: To complete the course, attendance on both days is required.
There will also be an optional 3-hour follow-up session for participants who would like additional support in completing their workbook for accreditation.

Participants who complete the course will receive:

• Level 1 (OCN NI) accredited certificate (2 credits)
• Workbook and reflective learning materials

This training is delivered by Voicing the Void and is co-facilitated alongside someone with lived experience who has come through the programme, bringing insight, care, and authenticity to the learning space.
