About this Event
Established in 1932, Trailside Museum served as the first public nature education facility for the Forest Preserves. Let's see the inside of the Victorian mansion that houses both live animals and educational exhibits.
New 2025 calendars with award winning nature photographs will be available free of charge.
After we're done in the museum we'll see if any rescue animals outside are active, view the wildflower gardens and take a hike around the pond and into the woods along the floodplain.
The walk will be on unpaved paths so good hiking boots are recommended for stepping over obstacles and stepping on wet ground. Weather appropriate attire along with water for hydration is suggested.
Walkers participate at their own risk.
