About this Event
Leader: Charlie McCabe
Starting Location: Fire Gate 16, across from 74 Hillcrest Parkway, Winchester
Volunteering Activity Description: We'll continue restoring culverts and other drainage features, removing obstacles from trails, and doing some trail definition. We'll walk about a mile or so during the workday to tackle a number of small to medium-sized projects. Our specific work depends on the weather and ground conditions; there won’t be much digging, mostly clearing out leaves and debris, gathering and placing rocks, and using tree limbs and trunks to define portions of trails, among other tasks.
What to bring: Dress warmly in layers and be prepared for the weather, including several pairs of work gloves and a drink of your choice to stay hydrated. We'll bring shovels, rakes, and other tools, but if you have a favorite shovel, especially a drain spade or sharpshooter, please bring that.
Questions or comments, please contact Charlie at [email protected].
