Traditional Stained Glass Workshop with Cathy Steed

Cathy Steed is a stained glass artist with over 20 years experience of practicing and teaching this heritage craft.

This absorbing one-day workshop will introduce participants to the ancient craft of leaded

stained glass. By the end of the day they will have made a beautiful panel to take home.

Participants will

• learn to cut glass
• choose a design from patterns provided and coloured glass from a selection
• cut the glass shapes to fit the design
• learn how to cut lead and use it to fit the glass pieces together
• solder all the lead joins
• use a 'cement 'to strengthen the piece and make it watertight
• Use whiting powder to clean up and then a final polish

Suitable for 12yrs - adult. 12-16 year olds should be accompanied by an adult.
