Join us for a unique and creative Traditional Easter Egg Decorating Workshop & Community Meet-Up, where we’ll celebrate Easter traditions, creativity, and connection around a shared table. This event is open to everyone — whether you have Central and Eastern European roots, come from another migrant background, or simply enjoy discovering new cultural traditions, you are warmly invited to take part.
Decorated Easter eggs 🥚🐣 are a cherished tradition in Poland and many other Central and Eastern European countries, symbolising new life, hope, and the arrival of spring. During the workshop, you’ll learn about the history and meanings behind these traditions and have the chance to decorate your own eggs using a variety of techniques. No experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to get creative.
This meet-up is about more than crafting. It’s a space to come together, slow down, and connect with others. Whether you celebrate Easter or not, we invite you to share your own springtime traditions, memories, and customs while we paint, chat, and enjoy each other’s company.
To make the gathering extra special, we’ll create a shared Easter table 🥚🍽️. We’ll provide some traditional Easter treats, and we warmly encourage participants to bring a small Easter or spring-inspired dish from their own culture to share, if they wish. Eating together is an important part of many traditions, and this shared table will be a way to celebrate diversity, hospitality, and community.🌸
The event is open to all communities in Birmingham and beyond. Whether you come with family, friends, or on your own, you’ll leave with a beautifully decorated egg, a full stomach, and hopefully a few new connections.
