Hello, stallholder - and a very warm welcome to the Surrey Steampunk Convivial!

Two glorious days of eccentric steampunk madness:

Saturday 22 February 2023 from 11:00 am (GMT) - Late

Sunday 23 February 2023 11:00 am (GMT) - 4pm

There are two markets with a distinctly different flavour at the Convivial:

• The Downstairs Market, at The Station, Saturday 22nd February + Sunday 23rd February 2025
• The Upstairs Market, , at The Station, Saturday 22nd February + Sunday 23rd February 2025

• THE DOWNSTAIRS MARKET

Location: Downstairs at The Station, Stoneleigh, Epsom, Surrey KT17 2JA

This is literally next door to Stoneleigh train station, about half an hour or so from Waterloo. You'll see the pub from the railway station if travelling by train. There is a bridge to navigate with some stairs.

Time: Access from 12 noon on Friday, or 10am Saturday: stalls open to public from 11am onwards.

There will likely be some of us setting up at the pub on Friday: do come and join us for food and a beer if you have come down on Friday night!

This market can operate on the Saturday and the Sunday. Access is on the ground floor. Tables can be provided, or you may bring your own and rails if you need. Food and drink will be available as you are actually in a pub!

The pub car park is available for us to use, (free parking - just enter your vehicle registration at the terminal on the bar to enjoy free parking, each day you use the car park) - but please don't pull cars up onto the pavement. Fortunately, there are two pub car parks: one to the right (which is useful for loading), and one behind. Failing that, parking is available on the Broadway, or local side streets.

THE UPSTAIRS MARKET

Location: Upstairs in the FUNCTION HALL AT The Station, Stoneleigh, Epsom, Surrey KT17 2JA

Date:

• Saturday 22nd February + Sunday 23rd February 2025

Time: Access from 12 noon on Friday, or 10am Saturday: stalls open to public from 11am onwards. (or pack down on Monday if you prefer to party a bit).

Once again we shall be allowed to set up on Friday anytime from noon.

There are two car parks at the Royal Oak pub, which may be used for loading. In the past, the Station have let us in the day before to set up, which might work well for some of you, anytime from noon.

You may leave items in situ overnight if you wish between Friday and Monday but please bear in mind it will be at the stallholders risk. However the door will be locked overnight.

There are limited stalls available upstairs, but the benefit is that the market is in the same room as all the action on Saturday and Sunday. The market is upstairs in the Function Hall, and access is either through the pub's front or back door or up the exterior stairs from the car park on the right hand side.

Please be aware that you'll need to enter your car registration into the iPad on the bar, and make a note of how often you'll need to do so! (In the past we have made a list of car registration numbers, which we pass on to the barstaff to help us register them all in bulk which gets around this a little).

Please feel free to advertise the event in any way you please: we encourage posting on the event page to whet people's purchasing appetite!

There is a suggested dress code for traders which is Victorian/Steampunk - and whilst dressing up is not compulsory of course, it is highly encouraged!

Stall allocation is on a first come, first served basis: we don't heavily curate the market: you are free to sell what you like, where you like - you get to choose your neighbours for the day, and locate your pitch. Gosh, a bit of freedom from the red tape, eh?

Ways to pay: Once again, we are using Eventbrite to create tickets in order to book a stall. Please select the type of stall you wish to book and purchase the ticket for the stall.

If you cannot pay digitally it is possible (but a bit of a pain) to pay using cash in advance to book a stall:

*Please bear in mind that digital payments go through first, so in order to secure a stall, it is Victorian stall rules: first come, first served!
