Tracy Chapman Tribute Show with Andrea Kirwin and Band - Bowraville Theatre

Australian/Fijian artist Andrea Kirwin and her band will be bringing their Tracy Chapman Tribute show to Bowraville Theatre on Thursday 20 February. The show is a 2 hour concert featuring 24 songs off Tracy's 8 Albums. Doors open 6.30pm for 7pm show start and tickets are $45 inclusive of booking fee. Concession tickets are $37.50 inclusive of booking fee. This show is a celebration of the music and lyrics of Tracy Chapman and singing along is encouraged!

Most of us have a story about the first time we discovered and loved Tracy Chapman’s music. For some of us it was driving on a road trip and hearing ‘Talking bout a Revolution’, or ‘Fast Car’ being played on the radio, for others we bought the vinyl record or cassette in the late 80s. Since Tracy released her debut record on 5 April 1988, she has been in a league of her own and continued to be one of the most respected artists in the Music Industry globally. Australian/Fijian singer-songwriter Andrea Kirwin has been a fan of Tracy Chapman having grown up with her music in the late 80s and 90s and has been performing covers of Tracy’s music over her own almost 20 year career in the Australian Folk Festival scene.
Andrea and Band will cover songs from each of Tracy’s 8 albums including favourites such as ‘Fast Car’, ‘Give Me One Reason’, ‘Talking Bout A Revolution’, ‘The Promise’ and more with additional songs including some of Tracy’s collaborations such as ‘The Thrill Is Gone’, which she performed with B.B King, ‘Sweet Home Chicago’ with Bonnie Raitt and ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ with Buddy Guy.
Even though Tracy Chapman remains quite the enigma to the general public, you can tell a lot about Tracy through her lyrics and songs. Tracy’s music is authentic, powerful and unforgettable. Andrea will explore and tell stories about the significance of some of these songs during the show, which will be played very much the same as on the original recordings.
