About this Event
During this FREE 3-Day weekend program, participants will learn OUTDOOR track cycling skills alongside Watt Riot Cycling coaches at the Glenmore Velodrome (map to find the track is below). No previous experience is required. Girls Forward Role Models will also be delivering curriculum that will empower them through education on safe, welcoming, and inclusive sport experiences in regard to Body Image in sport for girls.
PROGRAM DETAILS (PLEASE READ EVERYTHING)
Dates and Times (1.5hr sessions):
- Please arrive 10mins early to check-in
THURSDAY July 2nd and FRIDAY July 3nd:
- Group One: 4-5:30pm
- Group Two: 5-6:30pm
SATURDAY July 4th:
- Group One: 2:30-4pm
- Group Two: 3:30-5pm
PLEASE only register for ONE of the two groups, DO NOT REGISTER FOR BOTH.
Only register if you can attend at least two of the three days!
What To Bring and Wear:
- HELMET (this is a REQUIREMENT - email wli@girlsforward if this is a barrier to participation as Watt Riot potentially has some they can lend)
- Comfortable/athletic clothing (nothing too loose or baggy, for safety)
- Close-toed shoes (eg. running shoes) (NO SANDALS, CROCS)
- Water bottle
- Optional: cycling gloves or thin grippy gloves (not required)

- Custom Girls Forward t-shirt!
- Track cycling bike to use
- Empowering education curriculum on the topic of body image in sport for girls

- THE TRACK IS OUTDOORS (NO ROOF COVERING). IN THE CASE OF RAIN OR SNOW, THE PROGRAM WILL BE POSTPONED TO ANOTHER WEEKEND AND YOU WILL BE CONTACTED ABOUT THESE CHANGES.
