Ever wondered what actually fills your household trash each week?Keep Scottsbluff Gering Beautiful (KSGB) and the Gering Public Library invite community members to join Track It & Tackle It, a two-part workshop where we’ll explore household waste and discover practical ways to reduce it — together.
Instead of someone standing at the front of the room telling everyone what they should be doing, this workshop is about learning from our own households and sharing ideas as a community.
Part 1 – Track It (March 9)
Participants will learn how to complete a simple household waste audit and receive a worksheet to track what their household throws away for one week.
Part 2 – Tackle It (April 13)
We’ll come back together to review what we discovered, identify common sources of waste, and explore simple, practical solutions for reducing everyday waste at home.
Participants who attend both sessions will also receive items from our Simple Swaps Starter Kits, designed to help make some of those changes easier.
Examples may include:
• reusable produce bags
• unpaper towels
• dish soap bars
• refillable cleaning bottles and DIY cleaner recipes
These items are intended to help participants put what they learn into practice at home.
This workshop is free and open to the public.
Who should attend?
Anyone curious about reducing household waste, learning practical sustainability tips, or exploring simple changes that can make a difference at home.
No prior knowledge is needed — we’re learning and discovering together.
What to bring?
Nothing is required. Materials for the waste audit will be provided.
