Simulation based training has been shown to be effective, allowing careproviders to practice the skill without harming the patient. Course takers will have the opportunity to practice tracheostomy management skills.
Gain confidence in both pediatrics and adults for patient candidacy for cuff deflation, speaking valves for mechanically ventilated and non-ventilated patients, talking tracheostomy tubes, cuff management, prevention of VAP, swallowing management and specific treatment options including RMST, mechanical ventilation, alarms, decannulation and more!
This course is offered to medical healthcare professions such as speech-language pathologists, respiratory therapists, nurses and others who currently work with patients with tracheostomy or look forward to using this skill in their future healthcare career.
