About this Event
This informal workshop will be run by a speech and language therapist and a specialist teacher. A Sylheti-speaking youth worker will join us and can provide interpreting support.
We will focus on:
- Understanding what life is like for teenagers with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), previously known as Specific Language Impairment (SLI)
- Sharing experiences of parenting teenagers with DLD
- Developing your confidence in supporting your teenager with DLD.
Our group will take place at Spotlight youth centre for children and young people aged 11-19 (up to 25 for those with SEND). While you are there the youth workers can give you a tour of the facilities and explain what Spotlight offers.
Please note: this is a 4-part course. You will need to attend all 4 sessions:
- Wednesday 19 June 2024
- Wednesday 26 June 2024
- Thursday 4 July 2024
- Wednesday 10 July 2024
All sessions are at 11am - 12.30pm
This is a collaboration between Barts Health NHS Trust, Tower Hamlets Learning Advisory Service, and Spotlight youth service.
