Habitat partnered with The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s Build with Strength Coalition to build an affordable single-family home using insulated concrete forms (ICFs). ICFs provide a sustainable, noncombustible concrete building system that reduces upfront expenses and on-site construction time while maximizing the structure’s durability and energy performance.

Habitat received an extraordinary donation – a home and a buildable lot – made through a planned giving donation by Leroy Rodgers when he passed away last year.
We are so grateful for this donation and are using his generous gift to create opportunities that will leave a lasting impact for generations to come. On the buildable lot, Habitat partnered with future homeowners Segaoui and Asma, and their three children, nine-year-old Nasreddine, five-year-old Loudjeyne, and four-year-old Bachir to build this single-family high-efficiency concrete home.
Next door, Habitat volunteers are hard at work renovating Leroy’s 111-year-old home by partnering with future Habitat homeowners Khalifa and Houda, and their three children, eight-year-old Adam, five-year-old Yasser, and three-year-old Heba.
A very special thank you to Leroy for continuing to champion the fight against poverty beyond his lifetime.

We are a family of five. My name is Segaoui and I’ve been married to my wonderful wife Asma for 12 years. We have three kids, two boys and one girl. I work for Amazon.
We are originally from Algeria and have been in Madison for six years. Our older son is named Nasreddine. He is nine years and in 4th grade. He likes playing soccer and swimming.
Our daughter is named Loudjeyne. She is five years old and is in kindergarten. She likes swimming a lot.
Our youngest son is named Bachir. He is four years old and goes to 4K preschool. He likes to play hide-and-seek.
Asma loves to play with the kids. She attends Madison College and she likes to help others in the community. I enjoy playing with the children, reading, and helping anyone in need. We hope our kids will grow up to be kind, good people. We would like them to help others.
We are so happy to be building with Habitat because having a home is a dream for us. We dream of a place where we can relax together as a family and where we can be part of a community. It is a big challenge to own a home and we appreciate the support and will work hard to make this dream come true.
